Questions I ask prior to meeting:

Who are you/what role do you play in your business? *
Owner Yoga teacher and wellness coach

Tell me a little bit about yourself: *
I was born and raised in Venezuela where I went to Law school for a few years before moving to the US over 2 decades ago. My transition wasn't as smooth at the beginning since I encountered hurtful comments and behaviors about being an immigrant and the way I spoke. I became very self-conscious that I did not speak in public for 3 months. Thankfully I realized that my background is what makes me unique and my accent is one of my biggest assists not to mention that speaking two languages is a plus.

I used to suffer from chronic back pain for over a decade that worsens after taking care of a family member that had suffered a stroke in my house. That is when I found the healing power of yoga. I was determined to heal myself naturally leading me to get certified in different holistic modalities to help me become pain-free.

I've been blessed with the opportunity to teach yoga and wellness worldwide. I'm passionate to help others find relief from pain, achieve ultimate health, spiritual connection and live a fulfilling.

Why did you start your business? *
My mom introduced me to meditation at a very early age, Then as a teenager, she took me to a few of her yoga classes which I did not like. Little did I know that many years later I would be teaching yoga and wellness.

My intention was never to teach yoga but suffering from chronic pain landed me on a yoga mat. My determination to heal myself and get to the root cause of my pain led me to study many other holistic approaches to health and wellness.

I was determined to find physical, mental and emotional balance... That became my passion and part of my life's mission.

I'm passionate about teaching and sharing what I've learned through the years with others. It became natural and I felt that was very important to help others like me that were/are in pain and are looking.

What's the best career advice you have ever received? Bonus points if you can name who gave it to you *
Be yourself

What is your proudest career accomplishment and why? *
I've traveled the world teaching yoga and wellness retreats, teacher training and events. This is big considering that I was very self-conscious of how I spoke.

What has been the hardest career moment and how did you overcome it? *
Being told that I was not good enough to teach yoga. It hurt me and I wanted to quit but I come from a family of strong women and traveling the world and quitting is not in my vocabulary so I finished my training and then found one of the best yoga teachers in world and study with her eventually leading to me become a great yoga teacher as well.

Why do you want to be on the show? *
I love everything that is related to yoga and wellness and I feel that together we can continue to help others live a healthier and fulfilling life.

We are at the local coffee shop down the street and I'm about to leave. Tell me 3 things you want me to walk away with from our meeting. *
